Situational Center of St. Petersburg


Situational Center of St. Petersburg was established by the Government of St. Petersburg in December 2005, prior to the G8 summit organized in St. Petersburg in July 2006. The official opening was held on May 13, 2006. Situational Center of St. Petersburg belongs to the network of situational centers of public authorities of the Russian Federation. To ensure efficient operation of the Situational Center a special unit was created in Committee on IT and Communications, named Analytical Department.

Information support of the Situational Center is ensured by the Decree of the Government of St. Petersburg N 782 of June 26, 2006 "On information support of the Situational Centre of St. Petersburg". It sets the procedure of information provision from the executive public authorities of St. Petersburg, federal authorities and subordinate organizations.

The main objectives of the Situational Center of St. Petersburg:

  •     Information and analytical support of users of the center;
  •     Management of interdepartmental interaction during major events held in St. Petersburg;
  •     Connection to the video conference system;
  •     Provision of authorized access to information resources;
  •     Development and introduction of advanced information technologies into the work of executive public authorities of St. Petersburg.
