Committee has organized a round table on import substitution in the IT sector

On March 20, 2015 in St. Petersburg Democenter a round table "Russian information systems. Steps to independence" was organized by the Committee on IT and Communications.

The event was attended by heads of relevant executive authorities of St. Petersburg,  Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergency Situations and the Rectification of the Consequences of Natural Disasters of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, representatives of higher educational institutions of the city, Russian software companies specialists.

Chairman of the Committee on IT and Communications Ivan Gromov, who opened the round table, in his speech stressed that the issue of import substitution in the field of information technology, mainly the issue of the proprietary software replacement, is extremely important in today's reality, and is closely linked with the problems of security and stability of state institutions.

Participants also shared their experience in the development and use of Public Domain Software (PDS) in the state city systems, and exchanged views on the themes of infrastructure modernization, public authorities information security, training for the development of the domestic product.
